Boosting your health

The immune system which is made up of various organs, cells and proteins, plays a vital role in protecting the body from harmful substances, germs and cell changes that could make your ill.

It’s not just during this coronavirus pandemic that we need to ensure our immune system is running smoothly. In fact, until this is compromised you probably won’t give it a second thought but if your immune system isn’t working properly and can’t fight particularly aggressive germs or viruses your health could be at risk1. This is where probiotics come in.

Not just with antibiotics

Most people associate probiotics as something they only take when they’re prescribed antibiotics to reduce the risk of diarrhoea, but what they don’t realise is that a daily dose of probiotics helps boost the immune system and protect your gut health all year round.

Healthy gut – healthy person

It may be hard to imagine but there are around 100 trillion microorganisms (or microflora) representing more than 500 different species residing in a normal healthy gut, which generally won’t make us sick but will keep us healthy. These microorganisms help digestion and nutrient absorption and importantly contribute to a strong immune function .

Recent studies have shown that using probiotics doesn’t just benefit the gut but also helps decrease the number of respiratory infections, particularly in children – again an area that’s particularly relevant with Covid-19 .

Cipla, through the award winning research of world renowned scientist Professor Leon Dicks of Stellenbosch University have produced Entiro, South Africa’s fastest growing two strain biotic. Now just by dissolving a berry flavoured pill on the tongue daily you can ensure and protect your family’s immune system, helping them on the road to good health.
